For our first episode, I'm delighted to take you to The Tiny Greenhouse in Greensboro, North Carolina, where lush plants and gorgeous home goods are in bloom every day. Look! The door is open. Let's go in.
The Tiny Greenhouse is the shop and design studio of Suzanne and Edgar Cabrera -- a kind, warm, friendly couple with a great sense of humor. I first met them at the National Stationery Show in NYC a few years ago, but started following their illustration work through An Open Sketchbook well before that. Longtime mega fan. When I found out that Suzanne and Edgar were opening their own shop, I knew immediately that it would be amazing. And it is.
It is bright, cheerful and so beautifully curated. There's a perfect little smattering of everything here: greeting cards, boxed notes, prints, wrapping paper, desk accessories, home decor, planters, ornaments, and more. Merchandising is an art in itself, and I think it takes an artist's mind to create an environment that makes people want to wander in, stay a while, and then take everything home with them.
Sunny, bright, so cheery. I want to plop down on a big poufy pillow, read for hours, and take in all the oxygen.
Now here comes my proud moment... I spy Artsyville in the lower right corner under one of Suzanne's framed pieces. RAK Packs! Pocket Prints! Mini Rainbow Pins! They are quite happy here, hanging out with their new colorful friends.
